Back in the 1950-55 era TLG made LEGO bricks in at least 24 colors (but only 4
sizes... 1x2, 2x2, 2x3 and 2x4).
And they also made classic windows and doors, but different from the later
(1956-86) classic windows/doors era.
These earlier windows/doors were used with slotted LEGO bricks. The
windows/doors had "wings" on the sides and no studs on top. Also these were 1
stud taller than the later classic windows/doors we know of (the Panorama window
was 1x6x4, the window with 3 panes was 1x6x3, and the door was 1x2x4).
Anyway... my LEGO acquaintance Rohnny Sweenen of Belgium just won an auction of
a 700/1 Swedish basic set in a European auction. And low and behold... the
windows/door were ORANGE!!! I have never seen them in this color (only recently
saw Norwegian ones in green for the first time a few months ago).
So here's presenting ORANGE... a color that even the folks at the TLG Archives
in Billund don't know about....

In a few weeks when he gets the set in hand, he'll be sending me pics of these
very rare beauties (worth at least 100 Euros each!!). They'll be added (next to
the pics of the rare red, white, yellow, blue, dark blue and green early classic
windows/doors)... in my next (free to current owners) DVD download...
Enjoy!

P.S. Now people will understand why the LEGO DVD's are being discontinued for
only downloads... free downloads every 6 months for current owners... to include
newly discovered rarities like these, as well as new chapters. (See my other
Lugnet comments in Marketplace for a recent limited DVD download offer).

Sometimes I ust put the DvD in and randomly skip around--always something interesting (...) (12 years ago, 16-Nov-12, to lugnet.general)
