I am totally in agreement with your sentiment and have been complaining about
this for three years as the gap has been so small for most of that time. I spoke
with a LEGO rep @ BrickCon in 2009 when the dollars were almost at par and he
basically told me it would never happen and gave me every excuse about shipping
costs, tax structures, market forces.

Youo may also remember it was around that time that Wal-Mart stopped stocking
LEGO for 6 months or so in protest at the different price. They lost and
eventually had to start re-stocking LEGO products.

You are tilting at windmills my friend. Do what I do: save up, make a trip to an
American LEGO convention and buy lots at the LEGO retail store event @ a
discount. Between the dollar value/different price and the convention discount
you will basically be paying 50% off the Canadian retail price.
