That makes sense (re: what Steve and Tommy are saying). AFOLs are more like
comic publishers, not comic readers. So thank you for that insight, I hadn't
thought of it that way.

Perhaps what the hobby needs is a book 'How to be an unofficial master builder'
that goes beyond "The Unofficial LEGO Builders Guide" with details of expert
building techniques, amassing a large collection of pieces and some profiles of
people who are master builders - either with LEGO or within the AFOL community.
And perhaps the Pros and Cons of both. Personally, I'd rather build my own
models, fueled by passion, rather then build for LEGO and build for a buck.
