Why do European Lego Catalogs/Set Instructions have punched holes?

I noticed this a long time ago, but for some reason a lot of European catalogs and set instructions in the 1970's (and later?).... seem to have holes punched at the top corner. Why is that? This is not found in USA/Canada Lego catalogs and (...) (18 years ago, 3-Aug-06, to lugnet.general)

  Get ready for Brickfest™!

I have to say BrickFest 2006 is gonna be a fun!! I know the event hasn't even started yet. But just looking at the "Who's Attending" list ...wow. I look forward seeing everybody again, chat, take pictures, see wild and awesome models etc... (...) (18 years ago, 2-Aug-06, to lugnet.general, FTX)

(...) Count me in for all three days. (...) Done. It's easily worth a few bucks to be able to enjoy a LEGO weekend like that. (...)   New LEGO Poem: Tic Toc

I've been out of touch with the LEGO community for a while (1+ year now) but am happy to say that while my LEGO may be boxed up my spirit it not! As such I'm happy to present the newest LEGO Poem addition entitled TIC TOC (URL) The 1600x1200 version (...)   Re: Lego Vs. Superglue . . . Help me get unstuck, please!!!

(...) Well, you have a good point that I don't NEED to remove them, but what is the fun of building if you can't first take apart? Plus, if I ever want to sell them, I don't think I could with them being glued. I don't know, Legos glued together is (...) (18 years ago, 1-Aug-06, to lugnet.general)

Re: Lego Vs. Superglue . . . Help me get unstuck, please!!!

(...) Since you mentioned she might have gotten it from LLCA, I'm wondering if it's possibly not GLUE, but MEK residue or GBL- the two options the model builders use. MEK won't come loose in acetone, because it's not a glue, but a solvent the (...) (18 years ago, 1-Aug-06, to lugnet.general)

Re: What REALLY happens in the Sarlaac pit!!!

(...) I too am blameless. This happened after my time at LLCA. Sadly, but true, sometimes models are too old and in bad shape. And Boba wouldn't fit through the shredder as one. That kind of stress release is good for employee morale, let me tell (...) (18 years ago, 1-Aug-06, to lugnet.general, FTX)

  Re: SNVT Build-a-Train Contest

This is just a reminder that you have until August 7th to enter this contest. There have been some fantastic models entered so far but there is plenty of room for more. I hope as many folks with enter that can. Eric (...) (18 years ago, 1-Aug-06, to lugnet.general, lugnet.trains, FTX)

What REALLY happens in the Sarlaac pit!!!

Hey all! I guess this answers the age old question of what happend to Boba Fett when he got eaten by the Sarlaac! Saw this posted earlier, but thought I would re-post it to make it a bit more easy to find! This was well after my time at Legoland, so (...)   Re: Lego Vs. Superglue . . . Help me get unstuck, please!!!

(...) Might be model glue, which doesn't bond very well to ABS. Try soaking in warm (almost hot) water, then pulling. It might work. (18 years ago, 27-Jul-06, to lugnet.general)

Re: Lego Vs. Superglue . . . Help me get unstuck, please!!!

Josh, I too think you may be in luck. Most parents don't even let their kids use superglue, because it will bond 2 fingers together as well (without melting them of course!). There are safety warnings on the glue container, so parents should keep it (...) (18 years ago, 26-Jul-06, to lugnet.general)

Re: Lego Vs. Superglue . . . Help me get unstuck, please!!!

Hmmmm. Interesting . . . Then maybe he didn't use superglue, because I definately see some residue on some of the loose bricks I was able to pry apart. The glue is clear, completely translucent, but on some of the brick i peeled apart, I can see the (...) (18 years ago, 26-Jul-06, to lugnet.general)

Re: Lego Vs. Superglue . . . Help me get unstuck, please!!!

(...) I'm not a chemist, nor am I the authority on any subject, but in my limited life experience with super glue and models - I'm afraid you're out of luck. One of the things that makes superglue work so well at bonding two things together is that (...) (18 years ago, 26-Jul-06, to lugnet.general)

Lego Vs. Superglue . . . Help me get unstuck, please!!!

Hello all, So, I bought some brick from a woman in San Diego. Of the sets she sent me, two were glued together with superglue! It appears, from the few pieces that have fallen off, that the kid only glued the base of one brick onto the top of the (...) (18 years ago, 26-Jul-06, to lugnet.general)

Where's the repository of sticker images?

I remember someplace a while ago that had downloadable images of old sticker sheets, ready to be downloaded and printed. I'm eager to find this to refresh my old stickers, but I can't find the repository any more - where is it? (18 years ago, 26-Jul-06, to lugnet.general)

Re: 10177: UCS Boeing 787 Dreamliner!

I think this is a good looking model. Its nice to see Lego is till doing UCS type models that are other things then Star Wars. I showed it to my Dad who works at a boeing plant when he got home, and he said that he hadn't heard anything from anyone (...)   Re: 10177: UCS Boeing 787 Dreamliner!

(...) I had some concerns earlier this year about the Lego City passenger plane being a little too simplified with the one-piece nose section and one-piece wings, so I'm really glad to see TLC release a plane made from real bricks. I do wonder, (...) (18 years ago, 25-Jul-06, to lugnet.general, lugnet.modelteam, lugnet.lego)
