Not sure about illegal but perhaps. When I worked retail if we no longer had an
item and another store did we could have it shipped from a store that did. When
KK1 was ending I noticed that the sets were 40-50% off so I checked the system
to see if a differnt store had any since the store I worked for was out. One
had 2 or 3 so I filled out a raincheck for myself and had the store send one.
Then when it arrived I let it sit in back for a week or so until it dropped to
65% off. Not the most beneficial thing for the company to have to take a
clearance item and load it on a truck to go to the distribution center and then
onto another truck to come and sit in some back room until it was even cheaper.
I suppose one must decide based on motive sometimes. If a set is going to be
marked down and you toss it behind some stuff you are bad but if you find one
someone else did and buy it at the cheap price you got a good deal right? I
wouldn't try to get another set like I did but tossing a set behind another,
well . . . it might happen. I do my best not to defraud people or companies. I
would rather a clearance set end up being hidden, then having the ebay vultures
but them up and rake people over the coals.
