Has anyone noticed the new clear display boxes at Toys R Us? The display
boxes are about 3 feet wide and feature the current LEGO themes such as
Designer, Alpha Team, Knights Kingdom, Bionicle, etc.
They are real attention getters. Like other displays, the models inside are
glued. I assume they are shipped all in one piece and cannot be opened.
Unfortunately, the head of the red dinosaur from the Designer set had
already fallen off on the first day it was displayed.
I suspect Toys R Us commissioned the cases. They are prevalent throughout
the store. MegaBloks has several lined up on top of their shelf space.
Hasbro has a few GI Joe themed ones, etc.
The new 4679 tub with bonus box was was featured in the TRU flyer from this
past weekend. My local TRU put out a pallet of the tubs and they seemed to
be moving at a good clip. These tubs are the best deals going right now. I
hope LEGO continues to do the "random parts" style boxes.

I'm thinking of reproducing one of them in *cough* wood. It would be a neat way to display built (...) (20 years ago, 21-Oct-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.market.shopping)
