Hey all,
Just popped on to BrickShelf to look at Adam Skelding’s mosaic and noticed
Google Ads in the footer! It appears to me like BrickShelf is finally consuming
so much of everything that it’s costing Kevin more than he can singly afford,
thus the ads.
Now, I don’t mind Google Ads as much as others, since you don’t get
inappropriate ads unless you’re on an inappropriate site, but it is my personal
opinion that this is not right. BrickShelf is run entirely for us and is used to
great extent by the vast majority of us, so I think that if BrickShelf is in
need of funding it’s only fair that we be allowed our part to help out.
I know Kevin has declined help in the past, but I’d hate to force him to use ads
and banners. We saw what happened when Todd needed some help, so I’m sure we can
do as well for Kevin.
So Kevin, *please* will you let us contribute something to the BrickShelf
maintenance and upkeep fund? I know we can do better than the pennies-per-click
ads...and I don’t have all night to sit here clicking the banners. :)
Pretty please?! :) I have money here with your name on it, just waiting to be
claimed...

| (...) Brickshelf outgrew my personal ability to support it several years ago. Since then the LEGO Group has generously provided financial support. Without that support there would be no way to keep Brickshelf online. However, we are under a mandate (...) (21 years ago, 4-Mar-04, to lugnet.general, FTX) !
