There was (maybe still is) a Pinewood Derby type race track at LEGOLand
California. This picture is from about four years ago:

We had a lot of fun building and racing cars although there was a chronic
shortage of wheels. There was a similar track at the LIC in Orlando as well
although I don't recall seeing it there when I stopped by last week.
