I'm not so sure about that. The 2x6 technic plate is quite new.
Anyway, it does exist in black, probably in 8479, as well as other sets.

| (...) Right, although it's not in the 8880, it is pretty common. There's 8 of them in the 8479 and 10 in the 8480, and at least 1 in 8 other Technic sets that I know of. There's even 1 in the 6496 - Whirling Time Warper.... John C. (25 years ago, 5-Jun-99, to lugnet.general)

Don't know about large (4 studs wide w/2 windows) Clear airplane glass - yes Black (...) (25 years ago, 5-Jun-99, to lugnet.general)
