I'm curious if anybody else has taken the time to crack the DVD code on the
"Biff Starling" Mars lander:
https://planetary.org/redrover-dvd/dvd_spirit.html
I know Jeremy Rear was working on it but haven't heard if he's had a chance to
finish. And the announcement from LEGO said "all who successfully enter the
decoded message before the correct answer is released will be entered in a
random drawing that will award LEGO and Planetary Society prizes to a subset of
these cryptographers." Anybody know anything about the prizes?
There's another code on the Opportunity lander, scheduled to touch down on Jan.
24th.
