a nice juicy rumor to start the day...

A LEGO designer, Amy, was seen at one of the Illinois LEGO stores showing off pictures of Mega-Blocks sets on her Palm Pilot. She also stated that "LEGO wants to copy these designs." (21 years ago, 9-Dec-03, to lugnet.general)

(...) Here we go again... Can we try to find some good solid facts, please, before we go setting the community into an uproar over unconfirmed rumors?? ~Mike (21 years ago, 9-Dec-03, to lugnet.general)

(...) My source is someone who was THERE. Is that 'confirmation' enough for you? JohnG, GMLTC (21 years ago, 9-Dec-03, to lugnet.general)

Re: a nice juicy rumor to start the day...

(...) I believe your source, but did Amy have solid information or was she just saying what she believed? By 'confirmation' I was meaning something more like other evidence from LEGO or other ranking officials. I absolutely do not mean to debate - I (...) (21 years ago, 9-Dec-03, to lugnet.general)

Re: a nice juicy rumor to start the day...

A key question here is : Which Mega-Block sets does TLG want to copy? Dragons? Command Ops? Disney? Oops, Lego already had a shot with Disney. Then lost it... Too bad its lost on TLC. =( The train boys (in lugnet) also had a nice (...) (21 years ago, 9-Dec-03, to lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: a nice juicy rumor to start the day...

(...) Two things here bother me. First, that a designer would tell people this information. Look at how secretive Jake and Kate are. Shouldn't all employees, especially the product designers be held up to the same standards? Second, although this is (...) (21 years ago, 9-Dec-03, to lugnet.general)

X-mas ornaments (was Re: a nice juicy rumor to start the day...)

(...) What? You mean all the cute little things from the Advent Calanders aren't tree ornaments? That's where my advent calender is packed... James (21 years ago, 10-Dec-03, to lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: a nice juicy rumor to start the day...

(...) Actually, it's 9.99 for 10 ornaments - and the Target stores in my area are selling them for less than $7.00 now. I'm tempted to get them, but we're only doing a tiny tree this year, and there'd be no room for them with all of the ornaments we (...) (21 years ago, 13-Dec-03, to lugnet.general, FTX)
