Boy, does that bring back some memories. It is hard to believe it has been three
years. I am glad my minifigs speak in English, because I am not too knowlegable
in Spanish, as I took French for 5 years. : )
As for Lando, I am glad they did *something* about this issue, I for one was
surprised by this. Hopefully they bring in Captain Panaka and Mace Windu as well
so this issue can finally die, and can concentrate on other matters.
I am disappointed in the new Cloud City set, only in that the the white actors
are still portrayed as yellow. I hope at some point TLC re-releases the minifigs
that were portrayed by white actors. I think this is fair since as of now
minifigs should match the race of the actors that portrayed them. I did see the
official TLC versus LEGO Direct thread, but I still think it needs to be
addressed.
Overall, I think they should do away with the yellow minifig and eventually turn
all their lines (DUPLO, Jack Stone, 4 Junior, Town, Train, Star Wars, etc.) into
various races. I think Tyco had realistic colors of minifigs (IIRC), and Best
Lock has both black and white minifigs, among other building toys. I think this
would be the best solution to this.
Anyway, that's my 2x2 yellow brick worth.
Hope everyone had fun at Brickfest, hopefully I can go next year, the WAC (Wife
Approval Committee) has been rather... disapproving in this matter. : )

| (...) Ew, no. I couldn't disagree more. I have no problem with real basketball players being depicted with more naturalistic skin tones. I have no probem with Lando being brown. To be honest, I wouldn't have minded if he looked rather like this (...) (21 years ago, 11-Aug-03, to lugnet.starwars, FTX)
