big help finding pieces to purchase

the parts db's and websites are darn
useful, and bricklink is great for buying
but i have two questions:
1) is there any way to find what parts have been
made in a particular color (all green pieces, ex.)
2) is there any way to find what colors a particular
piece comes in (ex, 1x2 slope ... what colors?)
bricklink lets you choose any colors w/ any pieces
and it doesn't eliminate invalid selections,
which would be nice.
peeron has the data, but there is no way to search
it for these criteria (that i've been able to find)
