Nitpic 2  Also.. on the bottom.. the 2x plate needs to be changed to a
1x.. so you can put the legs flat... either that or the hinge piece
needs to be notched to accept the width of the plate.  Or did I do
something wrong? I can't see anything wrong from the instructions...

You didn't do anything wrong, but from all the evidence I've seen, Droid
Fighters' bodies are at that weird angle to the ground when they transform.
They're pointed this way in the trailer, and in the book "Episode I Fantastic
Cut-Aways" (err, or something like that, I don't have the title in front of
me).

Of course, the way they have the legs stopping, it does make it difficult to
"walk" them.... my nitpicks are entirely different, though-

1) The legs don't have the ability to move independantly when they are "legs"

2) The body is much, much too thick.

Of course, the beauty of Lego is the ability to look at something and think "I
could do better"- and then take it apart and do it.

Only two nitpic's with this one.. Nitpic 1 They could have done something different with the "head" on this for it to transform.. My brother got one of the movie models of this set and we compared the two.. what they needed is a rod, kind of like (...) (25 years ago, 5-May-99, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.general)
