The NGLTC LEGO collection just got bigger, or maybe the truck just got
smaller. :)

Well OK maybe the truck didn't get smaller, but we did rescue some fine LEGO
sculptures. Recently a set of LEGO sculptures from the LEGO Imagination
Center in Orlando made their way to Georgia and were scheduled to be
destroyed. We here at the NGLTC couldn't let that happen so we were lucky
enough to be able to arrange for a "pardon from the governor", and plan the
sculpture's escape.

The NGLTC will be doing our best to restore the broken and dirty pieces and
get the sculptures presentable for the public again. The plan is to take one
or two of them along with us when we do train shows and such; we'll find a
use for them. I couldn't stand the idea of them being destroyed.

(...) Wow! It is *so* unusual that LEGO would allow one of their sculptures to fall into "civilian" hands. Usually once a model has outlived its lifespan, they're ground up into tiny bits. It's great to see some models given a 'second chance'! Nice (...) (22 years ago, 27-Apr-02, to lugnet.trains.org)
