I feel like this is going to be the sticking point of any system. The big
question is: How do we prevent multiple votes by the same individual? I
guess an ancillary question is: Why would we care if someone votes more than
once? If someone is so pitiful that they have to stuff the ballot box in
order to win so they can feel their creation is the "coolest" that week,
maybe we SHOULD let them multi-vote and get it out of their system. Then we
could introduce a new rule: Once voted CLSOTW, you can't have another
selection for a specified period of time (6 months?).
I know restricting to LUGNET members would eliminate all the "lurkers" (like
me) out there, so that's probably not the best solution. I just don't know
what is...
Thanks for the comments, Matt. I hope this gets the ball rolling in a big way.

Cool! A shared administrative task. That is probably do-able, with a POP
e-mail account and the correct settings in Eudora to leave the e-mails on
the server. That way we could have multiple independent vote-counting.
Anyway, I hope this discussion can get a regular Cool Lego Site feature up soon!

| (...) Same here! I always enjoyed ogging onto LUGNET and checking out the CLSOTW, (it was, by far, my favorite feature of Lugnet.) I think a judge or part time admin of Lugnet should be emplyued in this. They can be at work, and come back to discuss (...) (23 years ago, 18-Mar-02, to lugnet.general)
