Seriously these images are BARELY Lego related.  But besides that I think
that completely flooding the Recent Updates with ANY image should be
addressed.

I'd just like to chime in here.  While I agree with Jon's original post
(that these avatar pics are getting very old), I also understand that they
aren't doing anything wrong.  I myself have a few non-lego related pics in
my folder, but I try not to do that.

As for flooding the Recent Updates page, any time you add anything (duh)
it's added to the recent gallery.  Just a few days ago, I re-organized my
Brickshelf folders, and without the ever-so-necessary Edit menu, there were
several things I deleted and re-added.  This caused about 40
more-or-less-in-a-row folders of mine to flood the recent page.  So I don't
think that's quite as big of a deal.  IF one could Edit things, and still
did that, then I'd have a problem with it.

<snip>

Not really.  I like Bionicle in moderation. They have some nifty parts.  I
think that they ARE (as alien as they may be) Lego. My problem is with the
wave after wave of annoying pixelated drawings that I feel are flooding
(Abusing) BrickShelf.

Also gotta agree here.  IMO (remember, just one guy's opinion), this is
abusing Brickshelf.  Don't ask me to back it up, because I don't have any
reasons.  That's why it's my opinion.

Perhaps a message to Kevin is called for, to see if the TOS needs to be
altered?

(Playing Devil's Advocate) I dunno.  They seem pretty OK to me.  I don't see
why the hosts of these little pixelated drawings should be singled out.
What about all the other things that are less or aren't at all pertinent to
LEGO?  At least these are annoying little drawings of LEGO items.

Can those posting the avatars shed some light on why you need SO DARN MANY
of the things?

Exactly. Why??

And I make three.  Why?

(...) How about a suggestion to Kevin that the recent gallery not get things sent to it unless the user explicitly checks a box to do it? That way when you reorged your folders it wouldn't cause flooding. (23 years ago, 6-Jan-02, to lugnet.general, lugnet.technic.bionicle)
