Part of what I most fondly remember about Xmas past was getting LEGO sets
under the tree.  Why should this year be any different?

I was lucky enough to win a recent eBay auction of an Expert Builder -
Universal Building set:

http://guide.lugnet.com/set/8030

Imagine my surprise when the mailman delivered the package on Sunday, two
days before Xmas.  I'm not sure who else has ever received a package from
Canada Post on a Sunday, but suffice to say, I was shocked.

Beyond just receiving this set on a Sunday, imagine my delight in finding
that this set (though over 17 years old) was in nearly mint condition.  All
it needs is some shrink wrap and a price tag and you could pop this box back
on a store shelf.

Beyond all that... this set reminded me once again what a great 'building
toy' LEGO was/can be.  It helped to reinforce my belief that brighter days
are ahead.

Since I won the auction off eBay, I guess this was a gift from me to me.
But since my wife would have been equally happy to buy this set for me in a
store (if such a thing were available) we decided it was officially from her
to me.  :)

Anyone else get any LEGO goodies for Xmas?

Regards,
Allan B.
