I know the reason for the implementation of the e-mail confirmation,
but why should members have it better than everyone else? Yes Lugnet
needs money to keep up, but how about another means?

I have no problem with the e-mail confirmation because i use
the net, not my e-mail.  Members pay for the use thats why ;-).

IIRC, anyone (not just members) who has his/her posting settings stored
in a cookie does not need to fill in the info every time or reply to a
confirmation email when he/she posts from the web interface.  I *am* a
member, but I still get confirmation emails because I prefer to read
LUGNET via email. (That, and I haven't gotten around to finding my
password to log in again after my cookies got lost when I upgraded
operating systems)
