In lugnet.build.mecha, Peter Guenther writes:
1.  The current schema is more appropriate...  .space is for the "official"
space theme, and .build.mecha tends to focus more on MOC building techniques
(joint design, etc.)

First, that's not true.  Little of the discussion on .space is about the
official space theme, although you're right that mecha tends to focus on
building techniques than .space

Second, consider this: How many LUGNET users would be extremely interested
in this, yet don't even know it's out there?  I was reading space long
before I realized there was mecha.  And while I check space regularly, today
is the first time probably in three months that I've looked at mecha--out of
sight, out of mind.  Putting it in space would attract more users.

Peter

I agree completely with everything Jeremy said.

Peter, wouldn't there be a lot more traffic on LUGNET if a *big* banner was
posted on www.yahoo.com? Yes, but that isn't going to happen anytime soon. IMHO
if you really want to learn more about something, you should take the
initiative to search around to find it. Should lugnet.build.mecha be moved to a
new location, just because people are too lazy to take the initiative to find
it? No.

Same thing with www.ldraw.org. Virtually everybody who uses LCAD programs, and
has a website, has it on his/her links page. Yet, why do I still get an e-mail
a week asking me what program I use to make .DAT files and render them.

Funny, eh? ;-)

Mladen Pejic, over and out!
