Well, every time I've called to get a replacement piece that was missing, I
just called customer service and they ask for the set number, the page
number and step number of the instruction book that the piece first shows up
in. Then you describe the shape of the piece. Since they are looking at
the instructions on their computer as they talk to you, it helps them
identify the piece you're trying to replace. I doubt that they would ask
you to send the damaged piece back to them.
