have in the UK for the manufacturers to show their wares to the retailers.

I would assume not for the public.  TF in NYC is the same thing.

If so, then they wouldnt be holding anything back - these events are meant
to get order for the coming year.

Then again, they may not do ordering for retailers until later - esp with the
possibility of leaked info.  So, they could be just showing these toys to the
people who need to see them.
