Uh... I don't work for TLG, of course, but I can be pretty sure that this ain't
gonna happen.  Unless you're on the payroll of a company, it's not very realistic
to expect them to supply you with stuff at their cost.  Certainly a much lower
markup than what they normally put on it would be sufficient.

IF a bulk ordering service were to be made available, and I
really hope that it is, it is more than likely that they
would be priced at a premium. That way it would not be cheaper
to buy the pieces to a particular set as bulk, and thereby
purchase a set for cheaper than its RRP. You would more than
likely end up paying 10-25% premium. If they were to offer it
at or less than set RRP, their sets sales would just stop.

I would like to see a pan-European bulk ordering service
become available. By pan-European, I mean that the price of
a brick should be the same, whether you buy it in the UK or
Italy, Ireland or Germany. The only difference in price to
the end-user should be shipping. But that will never happen.
UK-purchased items always seem to command a premium due to
the market seeming to be able to bear higher prices. (e.g.
Silhouette Ruling. Courts and laws designed to protect
the manufacturers, at the expense of the consumer. Free
license to rip us off!!)

Richard, You'll have to excuse me (I'm from the US), but isn't the Euro going to take care of that eventually, or is it still a long way off? Scott Sanburn (...) (26 years ago, 14-Feb-99, to lugnet.general)
