"With the Extreme Racer, the folks at LEGO have taken their idea of classic
interlocking building blocks to the, uh, extreme. The components of this
scale-model, off-road buggy are definitely not like the old LEGOs. There are
rubber tires, rotating wheel rims, chrome-look dual exhaust pipes, and even a
miniature driver with a working helmet visor. In fact, if it weren't for the
traditional LEGO snap-together action of the chassis, one could very well
wonder where all the LEGO has gone. Thankfully, there is still plenty of
traditional construction fun to be had here, and the full-color instruction
booklet makes putting together the LEGO System Extreme Racer a proverbial
snap."

Hey, that set wasn't very juniorized! I wonder what he'll have to say about
next year's Racer theme.

(...) Well, since one of the "non-LEGO" things they refer to is the MINIFIG, one wonders how long it's actually beem since the reviewer played with LEGO. eric (24 years ago, 14-Nov-00, to lugnet.town, lugnet.fun, lugnet.reviews, lugnet.general)
