Today I was talking to the Lego rep. in Brisbane, Australia (who was
very friendly) and I told him that I'd seen three of the catalogues for
2001. He said that he'd only seen the range a fortnight ago (around when
we did) and mentioned some of the new stuff.

What we haven't seen so far:
Harry Potter Lego (we all know it's coming though)
Bob the Builder Lego
New soccer set's (I'm not sure if these are in the catalogue's that are
out now)

and...

A remote controlled F14-Tomcat retailing for about $1200AUD(maybe USD)
(although we won't see it in Aus).

Just thought I'd pass that on to the LUGNET community.

(...) Does not an F14 violate the war toys stance LEGO has had since the beginning? I think your "rep" may be pulling your leg. Jude (24 years ago, 9-Nov-00, to lugnet.general)

(...) Very interesting. Thanks for the info :-) New soccer sets. Woohoo! :-) Just one question: How on earth is a plane made of Lego ever going to get airborne. Assuming it is the size of regular RC planes, if it were made of Lego it would weight (...) (24 years ago, 9-Nov-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.year.2001)

(...) Just the thing to terrorise the neighbourhood...I might have preferred a VTOL aircraft, but it looks like most of the backyard will be taken up by runway. Will they use Rock Raiders lasers for weapons delivery. Will the set include a Belville (...) (24 years ago, 9-Nov-00, to lugnet.general)
