At least, according to the latest Brickshelf poll:
http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/poll.cgi?poll=8
Going by the minimum value only for the ranges given, AFOL's have spent over
3/4 of a million in the last 12 months.
I'll conceed that I'm curious as to how accurate it is - did people mostly
estimate down, or up? I put myself in the 1-5 catagory, which is probably a
catagory too low for me, but I haven't kept track quite that exactly.
I'm also wondering (curiosity only, no one is being asked to divulge their
personal finances!) who the 17 people spending more than $25 grand are. I
hadn't figured on there being more than about 5 or 6 in that range.
Hey Kevin - A suggestion for a follow-up poll: "How much of your Lego spending
in the last 12 months has been through retail channels (as opposed to other
sources - eBay, Brickbay, or other non-commercial sources)?
That could also show some interesting numbers...

| (...) Wow! And if you divide that amount by the number of people who answered the poll, we spend quite a lot per person on average. That's why the people at LEGO should listen to our opinions and takes up seriously. :) Bryan (24 years ago, 19-Oct-00, to lugnet.general)

| (...) Yes, and I wonder how many of the people in the top two highest dollar categories resell some or a large part of this to ofset the spending on the stuff they keep. Example: Person A buys $10K a year, but sells off $5K of that for $8K. Person A (...) (24 years ago, 20-Oct-00, to lugnet.general)
