(...) Spend some time at the Shell website -- it's a very weird experience. They don't even pretend to present an image of a single operating corporation (like TLG does). Apparently, there are *hundreds* of Shell companies. Many of them are shell (...) (26 years ago, 1-Feb-99, to lugnet.general)

(...) Right, the Shell companies are shell companies. (...) The inactives seem to be ventures that didn't pan out, but Shell doesn't want to totally dissolve the incorporation. Maybe they'll think they can use them later. Maybe it's the corporate (...) (26 years ago, 2-Feb-99, to lugnet.general)
