Re: McDonalds 1999 promo sets in set reference ?

(...) Back when the sets were being released, someone determined that the numbers are coded somewhere on the back. The numbers that I have are... 2032 - McD's 1999 promo set #1 2069 - McD's 1999 promo set #2 2075 - McD's 1999 promo set #3 1995 - (...) (24 years ago, 26-Sep-00, to lugnet.general)

Re: McDonalds 1999 promo sets in set reference ?

(...) Neat-o! Anyone know how "official" those numbers are? Can anyone confirm them or 'splain what part of the coding contained them? Anyone know what #8 says? It's encouraging that none of the numbers shown above have been used before for sets (to (...) (24 years ago, 26-Sep-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.admin.database, lugnet.promo)

Re: McDonalds 1999 promo sets in set reference ?

(...) I can't find the polybag for #8, but I did find the instruction sheet. Based on comparing the other sheets and polybags, I think the number is also coded on the instruction sheet. So... 2025 - McD's 1999 promo set #8 Ray (24 years ago, 26-Sep-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.admin.database, lugnet.promo)

They are the first 4 digits of a 4+7 number printed on the top left of each sheet. #8 = 2025 (24 years ago, 27-Sep-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.admin.database, lugnet.promo)

(...) Ahh, good show! OK, so the last 7 digits then must be the standard LEGO 7-digit product number thingum? (Do the last 7 digits occur as a single unit or are they separated by periods or commas? Just curious; IIRC, LEGO has done it both ways.) (...) (24 years ago, 27-Sep-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.admin.database, lugnet.promo)

Re: McDonalds 1999 promo sets in set reference ?

(...) Just wondering how we know that's a set number, and not some other random number... normally it's quite apparent... not stealthy... I'm (personally) not 100% sure :/ (24 years ago, 28-Sep-00, to lugnet.promo, lugnet.admin.database, lugnet.general)

Re: McDonalds 1999 promo sets in set reference ?

(...) One encouraging thing is that most of those 8 numbers don't seem to have collisions with other sets. (But the DUPLO area of the sets DB is still kinda sparse, and that's where many of the low numbers hang out, so there could be collisions (...)
