I had assumed something like that was the case...You wouldn't happen to have
inventories for any of these sets would you? [or anyone else?] Also, I was
wondering if anyone has inventories for 700/? sets as well.

I'd still love to know what set the white 1x1's with the "U" and "2" came
from...and the roof bricks [especially the corner apex ones] - inventories
appreciated :)

[Oh yes, the red 1x2 without pin underneath was also CA, and from the look
of it had been mistaken for food at some stage in its life. It also looked
like the clear pieces had been burnt/melted, and when I cleaned them in warm
water large pieces of a black substance fell off (I assume it was melted
plastic)]

list]

Benjamin,

When there are very few specialty parts (like in the 60's and
early 70's), it
becomes very difficult to determine what sets you have.  The
one thing that
strikes me is the 20 macaroni bricks.  They are from the
parts pack (#224) or
possibly (#424) if it is a UK parts pack.  There are 20
bricks in the macaroni
brick parts pack (except for the Samsonite ones).  The 1x2
white brick with the
notch at the bottom is from the lighting parts pack #245.
From the sound of the
lack of Cellulose Acetate bricks, and the large number of 1x1
rounds without the
tapered base, I would say that a lot of these parts are from
about 1964-67.  So
you are talking the last half of the 1960's.  The blue train
tracks (150, 151)
confirm this.  Based on the number of red/white bricks, and
red classic windows,
I would guess that you have several basic sets (010, 020,
030, 040, etc.), but
since these sets don't have specialty parts, it is very
difficult to determine
what basic sets you have.

Benjamin, I believe (and I'm only 95% sure on this one) that the ONLY sets that had the 1x1 white numbers and letters were the parts packs (planpacks in UK). The numbers are (letters/numbers) 234/237(late 50's-early 60's), 487/488 (mid 60's) , (...) (24 years ago, 23-Aug-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.loc.uk, lugnet.loc.au, lugnet.db.inv)
