I believe (and I'm only 95% sure on this one) that the ONLY sets that had the
1x1 white numbers and letters were the parts packs (planpacks in UK). The
numbers are (letters/numbers) 234/237(late 50's-early 60's), 487/488 (mid 60's)
, 987/988 (late 60's - early 70's). Even though you only have one of each, I
still think they are from some(one's) parts packs. The only named items that
were in basic and specialty sets of the era were the named beams (1x6 and 1x8 in
white).
Another item that is strange is the relatively few small plates you have. The
large white plates were in a lot of early sets, but the small plates were only
in specialized sets of that era and in the parts packs. The basic sets did not
contain them in the mid 1960's. It could be that all of these small plates were
from one specialized (non-basic) set.
One person (in the UK) who might have a lot of info on the 700/ sets is Phil
Traviss. He is a wealth of knowledge on the UK 1960's sets.
