Odd train of thought for the day:

Germans are well-known for their orderly, follow-the-instructions
approach to life.[1][2]

According to hearsay, Germany is LEGO's biggest retail market.

Town Jr. presents a reduced level of building in LEGO sets.

Has Town Jr. had any affect on sales of LEGO in Germany?

No answers here, just questions.

[1] Not to state or claim that all German citizens, or people of German
descent, fit this description.  For good or ill.

[2] There was a video, it was about team building or working with
different types of people or something similar.  One talking head used
LEGO in Germany vs. LEGO in the US as an example.  To paraphrase, he
said:

"The German child will carefully open the box, retrieve the
instructions, and build the model according to the instructions.  The
American child will tear open the box, take a glance at the
instructions, throw them to the side, and start doing his own thing."

I'm not sure, but I think in recent years sales have been disappointing in
Germany, even before Town Jr was released.
See www.lego.com for the annual reports on 1997 and 1996.
