Well, the minifig count will vary the most, I would guess.  Freestyle sets
have few minifigs and lots of other elements, while other sets will have a
higher minifig:element ratio.  Technic will throw off the minifig count
completely (and the weight, as many technic elements have little mass).

I think the best way is to figure out what sets you have and then estimate
how much "extra" you bought and how much you have lost.  Short of that,
weighing your collection would let you know how many pounds of elements you
have.  Then, find a few sets that would be representative of your collection
(I.e. technic, train, freestyle, etc) and weigh the parts and add up what
they have for a parts count.  That should give you a good idea of how many
pieces a pound would represent.

Mike

PS:  I think that motors throw the weight system off more than anything
else, so you might want to remove them and any weighty bricks (boat ballast,
RCX, speed controllers) from the collection, as well as the sample sets,
before you take your weights.

6090 had 11. 6091 does have only 8, so counts are dropping a bit, on the
other hand 3409 has 12.

Hi guys, I used an very simple method, but it works. If you really have all parts mixed and I mean mixed there will be approx 1000 pieces an one kilo of weight. If you dont want to mix it all up and throw all the flower leaves and Technic parts on a (...) (24 years ago, 17-Apr-00, to lugnet.general)
