Umm... It's a Tyco Piece.

Thanks. I figured... especially after I got home and tried it out with my lego
and found that it didn't match the red lego color, and it didn't have lego
printed on it. Also the texture of the slope was different. I didn't realize
these before I compared this piece to other slopes... as a stand alone piece,
I might've been convinced it's lego but when standing next to a lego piece you
can tell the dif. Bummer, I really could've used that piece... but I can't
because of your first reason:
1) the squared off base/bottom
is more than on plate high,(you sure to find it to be a plate and one half or
half a full brick high before it slopes.

Meaning that it doesn't fit in with other lego slopes. And no, I'm not going
to start a Tyco collection just to make the piece work :-)

3) there is a small
diameter post inside as well, allowing just a stud to clear when put in, (this
gives it support in case you press down on it, it-the piece- wont become
deformed.

I noticed this one myself, and figured it wasn't a TLC-ish thing to do (it's
hard to explain; the design is just not TLC). That's what first got me
suspicous (aside from knowing that TLC never made such a piece ;-). I didn't
*want* to believe it wasn't lego, so I ignored the fact that TLC never made
this... wishful thinking, I guess... I was hoping to discover this was a
samsonite piece or something :-)

Oh well... too bad :-/

(...) I'm no expert on Tyco, but I do have a few pieces (from a red Castle set). And the only slopes that were in the set were 1x4x3 low slope roof bricks in gray. They appear identical to the Lego low slopes in gray, with nearly an identical shade (...) (25 years ago, 3-Apr-00, to lugnet.build, lugnet.general)
