I was literally dying to get this piece three days ago, when I was
constructing Helfire... (1) now I
found it! My babysittees were very eager to give it up in exchange for a
prefab submarine piece :-)

No, to be honest, I'm pretty sure this isn't lego per se, but prolly some
clone. These kids have mostly
lego but also their dad's lego collection, mixed freely with clone brands.
But frankly, for this
specific piece, I really don't care! :-)

Umm... It's a Tyco Piece. You can tell because, 1) the squared off base/bottom
is more than on plate high,(you sure to find it to be a plate and one half or
half a full brick high before it slopes; 2)there are lines of plastic inside
the bottom on all 4 sides to help grip it to the/a stud; 3) there is a small
diameter post inside as well, allowing just a stud to clear when put in, (this
gives it support in case you press down on it, it-the piece- wont become
deformed; 4) inside as well, along the slope there should be a mold number,
(single diget like "2" or "4") on the right side when oriented to the "normal"
veiw seeing it.

I believe only Tyco made the 1x1's, so it's unlikely to be someone else's,
(though still possible, just highly improbable,) so in case any of the
previous makes no sense, then I couldn't tell you who's it is.

(...) Thanks. I figured... especially after I got home and tried it out with my lego and found that it didn't match the red lego color, and it didn't have lego printed on it. Also the texture of the slope was different. I didn't realize these before (...) (24 years ago, 2-Apr-00, to lugnet.build, lugnet.general)
