This brings up a point that I've been mulling over for some time.
Has anyone put together a "How to do a LEGO guest lecture at your local
school"?
I've seen bits and pieces done, and I know the Pitsco-DACTA materials ($$
investment) are right on the mark, but what if you want to cobble together
your own presentation/interactive performance from your personal LEGO
collection and your own strengths/interests i.e. Mindstorm=robotics,
Adventurers/Castle=history, Technic=simple machines, pneumatics, etc.
A question for Kevin: How did your expectations of kid and/or teacher
response (hands on, Q&A's, material covered in time alloted) compare to
actual?
I'd love to be able to do a similar Techinic oriented show & tell with my
son's grade school class (when he gets there).

| (...) What I just did wasn't a presentation kind of thing, it was more like an art exhibition where you just go round and look at the exhibits. The other thing I do is a Technic building session every Wed afternoon: the kids call it a "class" but (...) (25 years ago, 7-Mar-00, to lugnet.dacta, lugnet.edu, lugnet.general)

I showed some of the committee members some technic and got volunteered to do a (...) (25 years ago, 10-Mar-00, to lugnet.dacta, lugnet.edu, lugnet.general)
