It actually includes instructions, some of them very old.  They can be • quite
valuable to many people around here, but $999 is way too much.

Well I am sure gonna keep an eye on this auction.  I have about two to • three
times this lot in brochures and catalogs from the 60's to the 90's that are
collecting dust. If it gets any bids, well maybe it's time to do some
EBAY'ing.

I wonder if that auction is another case of missing decimal point? $9.99
would be a reasonable price to start an auction like this off (though I
guess if each item was valued at an average of $5-10 $999 wouldn't be
outrageous).

Or even a stutter on the keyboard.  I'd say even a $99.00 opening bid would be
reasonable for this lot, and in fact I would probably bid on it at that price.
My early (i.e. 60's/70's) catalog collection is quite lacking and this would
fill it in nicely.

Speaking of catalogs, how many of you that got 8480s at Zany Brainy found
an interesting catalog in one?  Of the four I bought, I found 1 1996 Japanese
catalog instead of the standard US Technic catalog.  I was quite surprised.

(...) It's just strange but I have the same 1996 Japanese catalog from my only 8480, BUT it was purchased in TURKEY, and it must have been a regular European Technic catalog instead. Strange..:-) Selçuk (24 years ago, 25-Jan-00, to lugnet.general)
