When I came back, the dog was chewing on something tiny, so I started

It was a little black slotted piece from the Gungan sub.  And she could have
taken a 2x4 brick...(cue Steve Martin impression)...but noooooooo!

I got it away from her with minimal damage, and resolved to be more cautious
about leaving open sets with her around.

Then the pastor starts calling me (urgently) over the intercom, and for some
reason, cannot her me replying. So I step out to find out what he wants, and
downstairs, suddenly say to myself, "Doh!"

I rush back upstair, and she is just jumping down from the bed with Jar Jar
Binks in her jaws.

Good dog!

Now if I could just get her to sniff out Timmys...8)

More seriously, has anyone else had this problem? Any ideas on how to
persuade her that ABS tastes REAL bad?

Walp, thar's only one thing what can be done afta' a dog has a taste for
ABS...y'all might hafta do something right horrible...*click*

Seriously, there *is* something to this dogs-plus-plastic problem.  We had one
that really loved plastic--turned out it was in part because we lavished much
more attention on that particular plastic.  It was my sister's Barbie
collection, after we'd been away for the day.  The place looked for all the
world like a horror movie or a 1960s drivers' ed film--smiling Barbie heads and
gnawed limbs everywhere.  She never did seem to lose a taste for chewing
plastic, but fortunately I kept my softer Lego away from the dog.  She never
much liked the bricks--too hard, too difficult to chew I'd gather.

Now, a dog might have chosen that particular grille piece because it's kind of
"spongy"--it gives a bit because of its design.

Just a thought...
