  Re: I hate MOCPages

(...) I've gotten so annoyed with people who just write about their MOCs instead of posting pictures that I don't even look at any pages with no picture, that is no picture on the left when they're in recent MOCs. Andrew Horvatits (22 years ago, 2-Sep-04, to lugnet.general)

  Re: I hate MOCPages

(...) I agree. I've had to request removal of an obscene review before as well. Not only do lots of inane and often obscene reviews get posted, but a lot of people post MOCs with no photos. That's oh so useful. Just looking at the first 2 pages of (...) (22 years ago, 2-Sep-04, to lugnet.general)

  Re: I hate MOCPages

(...) Oh, Oh, teach me! So, how do you set Outlook to do the right thing? I always have to cutNpaste things into an emacs window and reformat, then interleave the replies, and paste it all back. And even then, Outlook always wants to show how smart (...) (22 years ago, 2-Sep-04, to lugnet.general)

Re: Help identifying 2x8 brick with single hole

(...) Interesting note here, too. I have one of those sets: 730 Steam Shovel. The bottom plate with a hole in it is actually a 5x6 plate... one of the few times there has been a plate (or brick) of odd dimension greater than 3. eric (22 years ago, 2-Sep-04, to lugnet.general)

  Re: I hate MOCPages

(...) See - there's your problem. Replying on the bottom makes a lot of sense, as long as you TRIM THE QOUTED TEXT. Not you in particular Alfred, but everyone. If people just hit <end> and type their text, there's no point. For instance, did you (...) (22 years ago, 2-Sep-04, to lugnet.general)

  Re: I hate MOCPages

I agree with your suggestions. In fact, I think it helps cut down the trash on Lugnet becuase you have to be registered to post, AND Lugnet always shows your real name.   Re: Definitive list of LEGO Themes needed

(...) Sounds like what would be *best* is a nice little heirarchy that contains several hundred items-- Because if I liked (say) Res-Q, but don't really care that much about the rest of town, I might not want to sign up for "Town", but I might want (...)   I hate MOCPages

Now before you climb up onto your high horse, let me begin by saying I love MOCpages, and I think Sean Kenney is doing the community a great service. But I hate the users on MOCpages, at least a few of them. Since I've joined, but over the last six (...) (22 years ago, 2-Sep-04, to lugnet.general) !!

Re: Definitive list of LEGO Themes needed

(...) This may not be definitive, and it may or may not be completely up to date (although it looks pretty darn close to this untrained eye) but I think it might be a place to start thinking about what is a theme and what is a product positioning or (...)   Re: Definitive list of LEGO Themes needed

(...) Not adding as such, but I think you should sub-divide some of the themes. E.g. "Space", as there has been official Lego Sub-Themes like UFO and Insectoids.   Definitive list of LEGO Themes needed

  New black X-Pod

I've read that the new black X-pod set #4335: [LEGOSet 4335] is available in the U.S. and Canada as a Halloween promotion. Does anyone know where or how to buy this set? (22 years ago, 2-Sep-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.market.shopping, FTX)

Re: Help identifying 2x8 brick with single hole

(...) Thanks for the info Christian, I always thought it was part of the Car Steering Gear Axle assembly found in truck sets of 1967-74.   Re: Help identifying 2x8 brick with single hole

(...) Well, don't ask me for the set number - I have only a vague memory on the details, although the core idea is clear -, but I can give you a hint what to look out for.
