(...) Of course, at some level, its a matter of opinion, so maybe I am in the minority. However, I have heard discussion from people who seem to be a lot more interested in colors than I, that the sand colors were mixes of the base color and (...) (...) I've seen two paths to accumulating new greys quickly: 1) Starter tubs 2) Releasing legends in the new colors Choice 2 works really well for castle. You'd get good proportions of walls and bricks to help fill them in. For space, maybe (...) (22 years ago, 7-May-04, to lugnet.lego, lugnet.general, FTX)

Regarding the recent color firestorm: The world does not come in exactly 256 colors. There are not just 2 colors of grey stone/metal/etc in the real world. The average child's imagination can see wood colored green, and people colored purple, and (...) (22 years ago, 7-May-04, to lugnet.general) !

Jake- That April 1 post about the Dark Grey bucket got it just about right. For each color on life support (dark gray, light gray, brown), make two tubs: Basic: Mostly bricks and plates and some slopes, tiles and cylinders Accessory: Everything else (...)
