Jake- I wrote a reply addressing my general response to ordinary bricks in which I failed to mention track and baseplates. Maybe you could solve two track problems at one time: Make runs of old dark gray track and generically bag/box them in sets of (...) (22 years ago, 7-May-04, to lugnet.lego, lugnet.general, FTX)

Jake- That April 1 post about the Dark Grey bucket got it just about right. For each color on life support (dark gray, light gray, brown), make two tubs: Basic: Mostly bricks and plates and some slopes, tiles and cylinders Accessory: Everything else (...) (22 years ago, 7-May-04, to lugnet.lego, lugnet.general, FTX) !

(...) Throw a lot of bricks in old and new colors in a heap on the floor, and then let in a number of kids and take note of which pieces are used first, and most.
