  Announcing new Legend!

Taking a break from reading the 250+ color change posts, I just got the green light to announce a new Legend! And it's ....drum roll please.... 5541 - (URL) Model Team Hot Rod>! The Hot Rod first raced into the hands of LEGO collectors in 1995, and (...)   The most invisible "good thinking" ever seen...

(...) Well, if there was good thinking involved, nobody managed to notice it so far. Did anyone see those hoards of kids streaming in the toy shops, screaming "YES! I want those new colours!!!"? If the reasons were that good, why don't they present (...) (22 years ago, 7-May-04, to lugnet.general)

Re: Reasons for the color change

(...) I think the color change was made because TLC tries to cut production costs. Probably they now use recycled plastic to produce the bricks. They just didn't manage to reach the same color again within a reasonable effort. Grey is the most (...) (22 years ago, 7-May-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.dear-lego)

  Re: Jake did good Thanks!!

(...) 2004 Lego Harry Potter, Now with new, improved colors! That sounds silly. This is more like when food companies put dye in their products to make them look better. They don't tell the customer outright, but if you look carefully at the (...) (22 years ago, 6-May-04, to lugnet.general, FTX)

  Reasons for the color change

Like many others, I am curious about why the colors were changed. I am prepared to accept whatever answer is given, even if it is one that I don't think makes a good case for the change. Some of the reasons that have been given officially (correct (...) (22 years ago, 7-May-04, to lugnet.general)

  Customer Relations - Endings

(...) "almost certainly" - There is the wiggle-room again. To be trustworthy one has to be reliable. TLC is neither (anymore). It is sad to see a good company go. (...) Until? (...) good: Someone though about including green. bad: the new colours (...) (22 years ago, 6-May-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.lego)

Re: Universal Colors - how about NO MORE CHANGES ?!?

(...) How about posting things WITH CAPS is the quickest way to get ignored by a company that is already trying its hardest to adapt and survive right now, much less focus on rants (which your post mostly isn't..but glancing at the subjuct makes it (...)   Universal Colors - how about NO MORE CHANGES ?!?

Hi all, especially Jake, Jake, first let me say thanks for all the hard work you've put into communicating between AFOLs and TLC. And I'm sorry some of the folks here have treated you so rudely. Now, I have a suggestion about this "universal color" (...) (22 years ago, 7-May-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: Color Change - Final Update

(...) I totally aggree with this. Take for example, the Shop @ Home only minifig scale Lunar Module. If it was available from somewhere in australia, I would have definatly bought it by now. But because it has to come all the way from denmark, takes (...) (22 years ago, 7-May-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.lego, lugnet.castle)

Re: Color Change - Final Update

(...) Ben and also John Gerlach have summed up how I feel exactly. Goodbye Lego - it was a great 30 years, and I'll still enjoy my existing collection. But I sure won't be able to be a big supporter, fan, promoter or consumer any more. You let us (...) (22 years ago, 7-May-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.lego)
