  Re: Homebrewed LEGO USB Dongle

(...) It was a Palm 3, I was even tempted to replicate that. Since I got an m505 two years ago my old IBM Workpad II (= Palm 3 in black) with a somewhat broken case is lying around unused. The problem with LEGO cases is that they are not very (...) (22 years ago, 7-Feb-04, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Homebrewed LEGO USB Dongle

Hi Larry, (...) yes, that made me think it was something like IrDA or maybe even Mindstorms IR. And there are still others for Bluetooth or wireless mice, not to mention those to prevent unlicensed use of software. (...) I got a cheap 32MB one (...) (22 years ago, 7-Feb-04, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Mispacked 1380s

(...) The first few copies of the TECHNIC R2-D2 that I picked up had an incorrectly packed part, but the weight wouldn't have been affected enough to notice. They're supposed to have 2x #6 angle connector and 1x #5 angle connector in white, but mine (...) (22 years ago, 7-Feb-04, to lugnet.general)

Re: A positive thing about the color change . . . no, really!!

I totally agree with you, Matthew. I'm trying to get excited about "weathering" ideas to distract myself from these feelings of loss. Spinning straw into gold might take awhile, but I'm gonna try! Dave "Matthew Miller" <mattdm@mattdm.org> wrote in (...) (22 years ago, 6-Feb-04, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Homebrewed LEGO USB Dongle

(...) -- snip -- I'm always amazed at the things people manage to house in LEGO. I seem to recall someone putting their PDA guts into a LEGO case a long time ago. Very cool shtuff! If I ever find a cheap memory stick, I might have to make one of (...) (22 years ago, 7-Feb-04, to lugnet.general, FTX)

  Mispacked 1380s

I picked up 11 copies of 1380, Werewolf Ambush, from KB Toy Liquidators yesterday. Eight of the eleven contained a wrong part; I've never seen LEGO make a mistake like that before. Have you? Three of the eleven correctly contained 4x10 black plates, (...) (22 years ago, 7-Feb-04, to lugnet.general)

Re: New Skin Tones coming? (was: Re: Scans from new danish 2004 catalog)

(...) Is this the same Customer Service who didn't know there were new grey colors, when products were on the shelves? Sounds like they are sometimes the last to know. Those new HP pics and Spider-man pics (good official pics, from Jake McKee) that (...) (22 years ago, 6-Feb-04, to lugnet.general, FTX)

  Re: Homebrewed LEGO USB Dongle

(...) Memory stick makes me think Sony, but sure, yeah! It has proven to be an accurate way to separeate the geekiest from the would-be geek. Mere memory-stick user: It's too big! True geek: Oo! I can see the LED! (22 years ago, 6-Feb-04, to lugnet.general)

Re: Official Alpha Team and Designer 2004 images

  Re: mic o mic

(...) nice -- very tough, colorful plastic. The black connector bands are rubber, and if I recall correctly they are held in with pins (the pin heads being visible in the pics). The figures shown are new to me, though -- it was just the vehicles (...) (22 years ago, 5-Feb-04, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Homebrewed LEGO USB Dongle

(...) I think calling them dongles is a misnomer... they are memory sticks. I have one that holds 32MB and it's way way more convenient for moving stuff (especially large stuff) than floppies or burning a CD... great for those times when network (...) (22 years ago, 6-Feb-04, to lugnet.general)
