Thank you Jake. I am glad that the color issue is being addressed. In my opinion, the changing of colors is only one symptom of a larger problem at LEGO. LEGO cannot be everything to everyone. LEGO should be LEGO. It is much more important to be (...) (22 years ago, 16-Jan-04, to lugnet.lego, lugnet.general, FTX)

 | | What is the best bucket / tub?
|

I had a $25 Toys R Us gift card burning a hole in my pocket. I wanted to wait and see if they would stock the 4400 tub. But it is apparently discontinued. 4107 has far too may 1x1's. So I bought two red buckets - 4105. This has lots of tan and brown (...) (22 years ago, 16-Jan-04, to lugnet.general)

Jake, here are my thoughts about the color change: I have already purchased new sets utilizing the new colors and I would have to say that the new light gray looks really good compared to the old light gray. It looks a lot brighter compared to the (...) (22 years ago, 16-Jan-04, to lugnet.lego, lugnet.general, FTX)

Bottom line - I think the color change is a huge mistake. Jake, I appreciate you taking the initiative to do some fact finding on this. And I cannot pass up this opportunity to offer my views. I have been a Lego fan since 1974 when my mother put a (...) (22 years ago, 16-Jan-04, to lugnet.lego, lugnet.general)

I've now got my first firsthand experience with the new colors, so here goes: LT gray is so close, I wonder why you bothered at all. Old Dk grey is better for rocks and earthly matters New dk grey is kind of more interesting to look at. As far as (...) (22 years ago, 16-Jan-04, to lugnet.lego, lugnet.general, FTX)

Hi Jake. Thanks for asking. This is my first post in regards to this topic, although I feel very strongly about it. My biggest concern is that this is an omen of things to come. After producing these colors for over twenty years, they are changed so (...) (22 years ago, 16-Jan-04, to lugnet.lego, lugnet.general)

Hi Jake, I'm not exactly a huge poster here on lugnet, but I am a collector of huge amounts of lego. I only got back into lego a couple of years ago so I no doubt don't have the collections other folks here do. I strongly oppose the colour change. (...) Much like the numerous previous opinions, I agree that the color diversification is a good thing, but not at the expense of established colors. However, the central issue for me is not that my greys and browns will become antiquated and mismatched. (...) (22 years ago, 16-Jan-04, to lugnet.lego, lugnet.general, FTX)
