Re: Brick Testament site linked with child porn case??!!

(...) I was interested to hear what you would think of all this. But, for my part, an attack on our community is an attack on me. Also, I'm sure the irony hasn't escaped you that the revulsion people direct toward your site is based on the very (...) (23 years ago, 31-Dec-02, to lugnet.mediawatch, lugnet.general)

Re: Brick Testament site linked with child porn case??!!

(...) While we beat up this reporter for not understanding BT, let's be a little more careful in our reading of the article. It didn't connect BT with child p*rn; it used it as an example of the poor judgement this person exercised in his choice of (...) (23 years ago, 31-Dec-02, to lugnet.mediawatch, lugnet.general)

Re: "Borrowed" Lamborghini Diablo design on Ebay.de

Ultimately this may be the best thing to happen. There's some understanding and a whole lot of us learned something from it. I wonder though, where do you plan to go from here? Did the apology suffice? I suppose you could ask for some of the money (...) (23 years ago, 31-Dec-02, to lugnet.market.auction, lugnet.general, lugnet.loc.de)

Re: Fair Use vs. Infringement (was: Re: Intellectual property and the Internet)

But the problem with that argument is that, in the case mentioned, the notecard had been copyrighted. If somebody went and stole the design, he could get into trouble for copyright infrigment. The defense argued saying that they hadn't copied very (...) (23 years ago, 31-Dec-02, to lugnet.market.auction, lugnet.general, lugnet.loc.de)

Re: "Borrowed" Lamborghini Diablo design on Ebay.de

(...) That's funny. When I started reading this thread, the first thing I thought of was "I bet Daniel Siskund would be upset if his blacksmith shop was ripped off and sold." I think it really sucks that your idea was ripped off and sold, especially (...) (23 years ago, 31-Dec-02, to lugnet.market.auction, lugnet.general, lugnet.loc.de)

Re: has anyone made Ghostbusters stuff in lego?

NOTE: this post only gives indications about where images once could be found... Frank used to have some pretty neat Ghostbusters minifigs online, either at (URL) or at (URL) even at (URL) I don't know where they've gone, you could try e-mailing (...) (23 years ago, 31-Dec-02, to lugnet.general)

Re: Brick Testament site linked with child porn case??!!

My main complaint is that they seem to have confused my site "Brick Tales", with Brendan's. Seriously, while we've had discussions here about Brendan's choice of story material, it is a bit off to be upset that there are stories about murder and (...)   Re: Brick Testament site linked with child porn case??!!

(...) Wow, this is great. I mean I hate to see fans of The Brick Testament getting hauled off to jail, and it's sad to see the depth to which journalism can sink... but then again, this is just too funny. Many thanks to James for pointing this out. (...) (23 years ago, 31-Dec-02, to lugnet.mediawatch, lugnet.general)

Re: Help defend the artist! (was Re: Brick Testament site linked with child porn case??!!)

BTW...have we heard from Brendan about this issue? Steven (23 years ago, 31-Dec-02, to lugnet.mediawatch, lugnet.general)
