  Re: New fantasy battle rules....

(...) Hello Mike (and Shaun), Where do I begin? I am _really_ sorry the way that came out. I really do enjoy your Brikwars rules. In my fervor to gush about the Chainmail rules, I gave your ruleset a back-hand slap, and I apologize. I don't want to (...) (24 years ago, 4-May-01, to lugnet.gaming)

  Re: New fantasy battle rules....

(...) As I understand it from some folks I have talked to, there actually was some roleplaying even earlier than Chainmail, it just didn't directly develop into the first commerical role playing game. Of course many wargames are also technically (...) (24 years ago, 4-May-01, to lugnet.gaming)

  Re: New fantasy battle rules....

(...) Oof! You wound him! Actually, don't get me started on the volumnuous (sp?) merits of Brikwars ... I can extemporaize for hours about this wonderful system, and I still haven't even gotten on Mike's payroll yet. -s (24 years ago, 4-May-01, to lugnet.gaming)

  Re: New fantasy battle rules....

(...) Close, Robin... but not close enough. D&D was first developed from Chainmail about 30 years ago. In around 1970 was the first fantasy Chainmail game that started the concept of role-playing in a wargame... and creating some new form of gaming (...) (24 years ago, 3-May-01, to lugnet.gaming)

  Re: New fantasy battle rules....

(...) Hello James, I didn't realize anyone would be that well-versed in the lore of DnD, but that is correct. I think it's a neat way to respect the heritage of the game. As an aside, I'm looking forward to using my Qui-Gon Jinn LEGO mini as a (...) (24 years ago, 3-May-01, to lugnet.gaming)

  Re: New fantasy battle rules....

(...) <snip> Holy full circle, batman! D&D was developed *from* a fantasy wargame called Chainmail, something like 20 years ago. James (24 years ago, 3-May-01, to lugnet.gaming)

  New fantasy battle rules....

Hello everyone, I have been an avid pen-n-paper Dungeons and Dragons fan for many years, as well as an AFOL for the past 3 years or so. I always wanted to leverage my LEGO collection into the D&D realm, but with little success. The BrikWars games I (...) (24 years ago, 3-May-01, to lugnet.gaming)

Re: Yet more piratical space paraphenalia...

(...) Well...if there's another 3052 around for $20 I'd be interested :) [perhaps arriving by pirate-post with the welshishish contingent in June.] Also, I'd be interested in the odd Johny thunder [or however many seem to be around] along with baron (...)   Re: Yet more piratical space paraphenalia...

(...) Six fully armed troopers, plus three Black Guards, plus some equipment. I could probably sling in a bit more, but fully trained troopers are a bit hard to come by (as are matching minifigs :-).   Re: Yet more piratical space paraphenalia...

(...) Absolutely ;-) (...) About the only things about Bill and Ted that are Lego are actually the engines, thrusters, and cockpit, all purloined from the Imperial Shuttle.   Re: Yet more piratical space paraphenalia...

(...) Cool models! Fun + Functional ...They have a heavy duty, reinforced hull look that conveys their purpose well...namely deployment of troops during combat. I like the color scheme too...the standard gray is broken up nicely. How many troops can (...) (24 years ago, 17-Apr-01, to lugnet.loc.au, lugnet.gaming, lugnet.space)

Re: Yet more piratical space paraphenalia...

(...) Hey Richard....all if fine with love and clone bricks when your budget dictates. It's better to have some clone bricks thrown into the mix than no bricks at all, don't you agree? :^) Very nice Saucy Slayer and Bill & Ted drop ships. Although, (...)
