So Todd hates Javascript. I wrote a Javascript compiler for a dedicated
web browser, and it was/is used by many hackers to break in the system,
so I understand why.

But here's another fly for the soup. Suzanne, have you considered
replacing the solid rectangles with three sided orthogonal view, like a
1x1 brick? (warning, bad ascii art coming)

| B\/  |
  \  | C/

    \|/

Sides A, B and C would be 'lit' differently, to represent the range of
brightness that the color has when you're looking at it. Just two shades
would help a lot. I'd guess you could start with the existing colors and
halve the RGB values to get a 'shadow' version of the same color. You
could even keep the table you have now and split it into two pieces to
represent a top view of a brick and its side:
_______

| | () |
|_|____|

You can see why I never worked in the art department.

I have a finished rough draft of an element color chart:

Interesting to see how much order there can be to what was (to me) seeming • like
a jumble of new colors.

Rather than render each swatch as an image, I used HTML's table background • specs
for the colors

Hmm, just found one disadvantage of this... IE 4.0 doesn't print the
backgrounds....

Guess I'll have to do a screen capture to print the chart.
