Starting at the beginning...
Looking at my box of figures, trying to decipher which ones are older based on
some new info I read on Sybrand Bonsma's UFHP relayed to him by Henriette
Hoffmann-Schläger, I noticed that I had 2 Raccoons with yellow arms, black legs
and white torsos. This is not unusual, as I have been collecting Fabuland for
a bit and am fortunate to have repeats of several figures... but what is
unusual it that while the eyes appear to be the same style, black with two
white dots, the masks around the eyes are very different, with one being
significantly larger than the other. What is going on here? At first I
thought it just to be a case of my having removed a head and then having
replaced it at a later date with the wrong head. Feeling guilty about past
head popping, I decided to look around the lugnet set ref to see if maybe I
wasn't so evil.
Lo and behold there appear to be two authentic mask versions for this Raccoon
white body /yellow arms /black legs color combo.
BIG mask 3669 from 1982

SMALL mask 3681 from 1985

I don't know if there is a correlation between the year and the bigness or
smallness of the Raccoon mask or if it is random. It will take some time to
sort. If anyone already has the answer (or any other observations), I would
love to hear.
Also, are all the Raccoons meant to represent the same character? In English,
I only know of him being called "Ricky". Are there other English names for
the Raccoon. Does he have a different name (or multiple different names) in
other languages? I tend to think of the Raccoon only as one character, "Ricky"
with multiple sets of clothes. I could be quite mistaken...

| (...) legs (...) "Ricky" (...) Aarghh... Even more things to check. I've been just checking my figures to see what type of legs and what thype of eyes the have, but I didn't look at the size of the masks. The list will all different types of figures (...)
