Hey, Mike...this is actually my first trip to Brickfest, but as a local I
can tell you there are a fair number of restaurants either right at the
hotel or within close walking distance of the hotel, ranging from cheap(?)
to fairly nice.
The following restaurants are right on site or just across the street from
the hotel:
IHOP (across street)
Ruby Tuesday (outside hotel lobby)
Dan & Brad's (I believe this is the hotel's restaurant)
Just down the street is Quizno's, a good sub shop, but seriously lacking in
adequate seating.
There are also a couple of restaurants across N. Stuart Street which I am
not that familiar with.
There is also Ballston Common Mall, two blocks from the hotel, but
accessible via completely enclosed pedestrian bridges connecting hotel,
National Science Foundation, and mall...restaurants include Pizzeria Uno,
Memphis Bar-B-Que, and Macaroni Grill(Italian food)..there is also a food
court in the mall with typical food court fare.
There seems to be less the further you go down Fairfax from the hotel and
the closer you get to the fest.
As far as transporting your stuff to the fest, the hotel is right on top of
Ballston Metro Station, one stop down from the fest. Since you have a
vehicle, depending on the size of your load, you may be best off driving it
down.(both the fest and the hotel are on the same street, N. Fairfax Drive).
Since I don't drive, getting my stuff there is a different story, but I will
be using metro bus and/or rail. I am staying at the Hilton as well.
Hope this helps.
May the Brick Be With You!!
