I've just finished building a LEGO version of "Die Siedler von Catan", the
German board game (American name: "Settlers of Catan"). I'm bringing it to BF
and will be looking for play-testers!

For those already familiar with the game:
I've got everything built for the standard setup, the Seafarers expansion, and
most of the Cities and Knights expansion! Unfortunately, player colors are
limited by parts availability. So only three (possibly four) people can compete
at once.

Mine game uses hex-tiles that are 3D - a bit like the official ones released
recently: http://www.boardgamegeek.com/image/72684 It will be on display as a
MOC during Fest hours, but can easily be packed up for game-play in the evening.
Anyone interested? We can meet wherever (preferably someplace that includes
beer!).

For those unfamiliar with the game:

(...) Now THAT I've got to see! Yes, both my son and I play, and love that game (we've only dug into the original so far, not the expanssions). We'd be up for a game if possible (although since he's 8, the venue and time might be problem). (...) (...) (18 years ago, 23-Aug-06, to lugnet.events.brickfest)

Suz- I've played the game once, and I've been really wanting to play again. Count me in, I can't wait to see it. (ps: did you get my e-mail regarding me representing my club?) (18 years ago, 23-Aug-06, to lugnet.events.brickfest)

(...) OMGoodness!! I was soooo planning on making a 'LEGO-ized' version of Settlers in the near future! I would love to see pics of your version, Suz! Dave K -who doesn't play Settlers as often as he would like (18 years ago, 23-Aug-06, to lugnet.events.brickfest)

(...) <SNIP> (...) That sounds cool as all heck. It's been a long time since I've played, but I'd love to have a go! I should be good for any off-hours time, but it might be interesting to actually play during the public expo as well. -Scott (18 years ago, 23-Aug-06, to lugnet.events.brickfest)

(...) That's totally awesome. I'm not going to be able to make it to BF this year, and Settlers isn't really my cup of tea, but I can't wait to see the pictures. How did you manage the resource cards? Are they lego or are you using the ones from the (...) (18 years ago, 23-Aug-06, to lugnet.events.brickfest, FTX)

(...) I wanted to make the whole board but my wife only wanted a tray for the cards. (URL) card decks are each just under 7 studs wide, just over 10 deep and just under 1 brick high. (...) Always interested in a game of settlers. (...) (18 years ago, 24-Aug-06, to lugnet.events.brickfest)

Greetings Suz, Unfortunately I won't be there but I am a huge fan of the game. I couldn't stand the boring wooden pieces for the robber, barbarian, pirate, and merchant so I made some customized minifigs: (URL) (18 years ago, 29-Aug-06, to lugnet.events.brickfest)
