Suddenly, this thread has taken a sour turn.
I don't know Todd, but I've see his sumo robots, and I'm willing to bet the
budget for this project has been equally well thought out.
I suspect the DVD budget planning committee sat down on Friday night at
Brickfest and had a discussion that sounded something like this:
Todd: "Lots of people have pictures. I could collect them all, and make a DVD."
Todd: "Would people want the DVD?" (you know he talks to himself)
Todd: "Yes" (and answers himself, too)
Todd: "How much would it cost?"
Todd: "5 bucks?"
Todd: "Sure."
Todd: "Done. I'll announce it tomorrow."
As it turns out, thanks to this free-market economy and the laws of suppily &
demand, people are offering $6.00 for the DVD. Not because of the short
suppily, but because people are willing and able to dig deep in their pockets
and pay that much.
To tell you the truth, most of these pictures may show up on the web, if they
haven't already. But that won't stop people from buying the DVD.
If Todd manages to get rich from my $6, good for him. I think it's worth it.

| (...) Now I agree that the volunteers putting this together are doing a great service but the "cost" of the DVD is, what, 50 cents for the blank DVD, 50 cents for the cover, and 50 cents for the cover. That's $1.50. You can ship anywhere in the US (...) (20 years ago, 27-Aug-04, to lugnet.events.brickfest)
